As CEO, Euan manages and leads Newton’s business by establishing and developing appropriate business goals, that is both short term targets and strategic objectives to ensure that clients are well served, that the firm succeeds commercially and that it attracts and retains talented people. Euan is Chair of the Executive Management Committee and the NIM NIMNA Investment Oversight Committee.

Euan is a seasoned investment management executive with a background in macro investing. He started his career as an Actuarial Trainee at Scottish Provident to then joining Standard Life Investments (SLI) as an Inflation-Linked Portfolio Manager in 1995. Euan spent nearly 20 years at SLI where he was Head of Multi-Asset and Fixed-Interest Investing and was latterly a member of that company’s board.
Euan joined Newton from Aviva Investors where he was Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Aviva plc group executive team for 7 years.
Euan has a first-class honours degree in Physics from the University of Edinburgh and is a Fellow of the Faculty and Institute of Actuaries. He is also a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Wharton Business School, Philadelphia.
Outside of work, Euan enjoys spending time with his family, trying to keep fit by playing golf and running, and walking in the Scottish hills with his wife and deerhound dog and is an active member of his local church.
