New role created to enhance ability to drive future success with optimum commercial team

Newton Investment Management (Newton), part of BNY Mellon, today announced that Julian Lyne has been appointed as Global Head of Distribution. This new role includes providing leadership for both global marketing and sales. Formerly Head of Business Development and Global Consultant Relationships, he will continue to report to Colin Cowie, Commercial Director.

This change has been made as Newton seeks to capitalise on its strong performance and ensure it is effectively able to leverage its strong investment reputation globally.

Julian joined Newton in June 2014 with a remit to galvanise its global consultant relations and UK institutional and charity business development and he retains responsibility for these areas.

Helena Morrissey, Chief Executive Officer of Newton Investment Management, commented:

“We are constantly looking at ways of enhancing our service to customers and we are therefore bringing a number of areas together and broadening Julian’s role in recognition of his excellent leadership. Newton is in a strong position in 2016, with strong fund performance, and combined with existing and strong new business relationships, we believe these changes will enhance our ability to continue to drive success in the future.”

Julian has 21 years investment experience and prior to joining Newton, he was Head of Institutional Business at F&C Investments. Throughout his career he has held various roles covering client and consultant relations across both DC and DB segments.
