This year, we welcomed Xi Li from the London School of Economics to discuss her research into shareholder engagement on environmental, social and governance issues, and its impact on corporate behaviour and portfolio returns.
The seminar also featured:
- an update on our outlook for the charity sector from Jeremy Wells
- an update on Newton Growth and Income Fund for Charities performance and positioning from our portfolio management team
- a presentation from our head of responsible investment Rob Stewart and fund manager Raj Shant, who discussed how Newton approaches sustainable investing
The afternoon concluded with drinks and canapés giving delegates an opportunity to meet members of the Newton team and follow up on some of the subjects raised during the seminar.
